I lost pictures in icloud and cannot find them nor restore them

Hi. I realized that after an update to ios 10, i lost whole series of pictures stored in icloud. I do not know if losing them is connected to update to ios 10.

i tried to restore them in icloud, but found nothing in deleted section.

Please help, these were valuable pics.

iPhone 6s, iOS 10.0.2

Are you able to see the photos if you log into icloud.com via a browser?
