IPhone 7 - Speakerphone issues.

I have gone through two different iPhone 7's in the past month, both have had the same issue. I use speakerphone for 90% of my calls. During 50-60% of the calls (using speakerphone), the person on the other end says they "can barely hear me." I then take the phone off of speakerphone and put it to my ear (which I hate to do). The person on the other end can then hear me. I tell them I'm having trouble with my phone, and ask them to describe what I sounded like a moment before. They always say I sounded like I was 10 feet away from the phone, one woman said I sounded like I was "talking to her from across the room." 40-50% of my other speakerphone calls communicate perfectly fine.

This is making me contemplate whether or not I can keep the new phone. I depend on speakerphone, and it's just not working. I've called AppleCare and gone through that rigamarole. Hard restarted the phone, restored the phone, removed microphone access from any apps which could be interfering. The case is not covering any of the microphones or speakers. I've considered buying the iPhone 6, however, if it's an ios10 issue, it could affect that model as well.

Very annoying for a $900 device. I would expect the simple things to work. I have until 10/17/16 to once again return the device and go back to my iPhone 5.

And a bad guess at that. If you're experiencing the same problems with two pieces of the same hardware, the IPhone 7 is the problem. But at this point, what Apple should do is halt all development, and instead focus on whatever technology is required to bring Steve Jobs back to life because I doubt he'd put up with this baloney. People have been complaining about my IPhone 7 speakerphone since the day I bought it with only the Apple apps installed.

I would follow the steps in this article:

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups - Apple Support

and set up the iPhone as a new device. Then try the speakerphone. If it works reliably, then add apps and/or change the settings as desired one-by-one to see if there is a conflict. I know this can be VERY time consuming process to troubleshoot an intermittent problem. But with two iPhones, I doubt this is a hardware issue. Just my guess!

I am having the same exact issue and I also spend 90% of my day on speakerphone. My iPhone 6s was the gold standard on speakerphone sound and no one ever suspected that I was even on speakerphone. On my iPhone 7 no one can even hear me. Oh, and I didn't restore this phone from my iPhone 6s backup. I actually started from new and it has been like this from day 1.

Please fix this Apple!!
