How do I delete text bubbles in iOS 10.0.2?

Has the option to delete individual text bubbles and Delete All been removed in iOS 10.0.2, or am I just not doing something correctly?

After doing the update on my iPhone 5s, one thing that's different, and bugging me greatly as I used to use it to clean up long collections of text messages while leaving some I wanted to keep a while longer, is that there doesn't appear to be a way to delete individual text bubbles anymore, at least not without deleting them all along with the person's name that I've been texting with. It doesn't delete the person from my Contacts, just from the Messages list of people I text with regularly.

Previously, one could delete parts of a string of texts by tapping on a bubble and then choosing More, then choosing individual bubble(s) without deleting them all, or choosing Delete All to remove all the text bubbles, but it would leave the person on the list of Messages texters. Now, it seems I can only Delete All, but in doing so I end up deleting the person from the Messages text list too. I like to keep some names of people I regularly text with on that list, as it's quicker than looking them up in Contacts.

Now when I tap on a text bubble, the screen greys out and a white bubble appears with only 6 options:

  • a heart,
  • thumb up,
  • thumb down,
  • HA HA,
  • !!, and
  • ?

Where is the option to delete all texts or only parts of them?

iPhone 5s, iOS 10.0.2

hold down on said text - then at the bottom you see copy or more - it should be self explanatory from here.
