Q: Top Sites button shows favorites instead

Top sites button shows "Favorites" not the "Top Sites" or when I click in the address bar it shows "Favorites".  Older versions would show my most visited websites, which I'm assuming is the "Top Sites", when I clicked in the address bar.  I can't find a way to change this.  When I customize the tool bar and drag the "Top Sites" button onto the bar, it still shows the "Favorites"

    Perhaps Safari preferences are corrupted ..  it can happen,

     

     

    Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

     

    Type or copy paste the following:

     

    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist

     

    Click Go then move the com.apple.Safari.plist file to the trash.

     

     

    Quit then relaunch Safari then try TopSites.
