Q: itunes has stopped working - tried everything

Every time I try to run iTunes on my Windows computer I get an error "iTunes has stopped working". I have tried uninstalling, cleaning registry, removing folders, rebooting, reinstalling, etc. etc. ad nauseum. Nothing seems to help. I've located numerous "try this" and "problem solved" links I've found on Google related to this and nothing seems to be resolving the problem. It used to work just fine. Does anyone have a magic bullet for me? I am completely unable to use iTunes at this point. It used to work, but it no longer will work no matter what I do. It does not matter whether I have my phone connected or not and whether I am connected to the network or not. HELP!!!!!!!

 

I am running Windows 7 Professional SP1 on an HP EliteBook 840 G1.

iPhone 6, iOS 10.0.2
