iPhone 6s shuts down with 30 to 40 % of battery life

Good evening,

since when I've updated my iPhone 6s to iOS 10 I've noticed that the phone always shuts down with 30 to 40 % of battery life remaining. Then if I try to power on the phone it says that it has no charge, but If I plug the phone to the line with the power chord it can power on immediately and it notify's the right power remaining (30 to 40). After this it works right till the complete battery discharge.

Has anyone the same problem? Or can anyone suggest me how to solve this issue?

Thank you in advice.

Hi!

I sometimes (not every time) have a similar problem.

My 6s turns off when it's at 50 % or below and I'm using an app which needs more battery. (like Microsoft Pix, Snapchat, ...)

I then also can't turn it on again, but if I connect it to power it turns on.

I also can unplug it directly after it turned on and it works fine until the battery is discharged. (also when using the same app as before where it turned off).

This started to happen with iOS 10, so I never had this problem with iOS 9.x.x

Unfortunately I can tell you that this problem existed on iOS 9, too. The first time I experienced a shutdown was in the Spring 2015. But that was also the only time before installing the iOS 10, now it happens every time.

I suggest you take a look at this discussion on the MacRumors forum because I do not see the point of repeat everything what has been described there:

Same here! My iphone 6splus and my wifes 6s shut down a lot and get really hot... at 30% my wifes 50% power drains fast sometimes they dont charge... im hoping the phone explodes so i can let apple talk to my attorneys as this is my first and last iphone ill ever own. Glitches and bugs have plagued it and now battery issues are getting worse and it just turned 1 year old.

Hi

There is an iPhone 6s Program for Unexpected Shutdown Issues.

The program covers iPhone 6s devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between September and October 2015.

Apple advises that, if you have experienced the issue, you should visit an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorised Service Provider to have your iPhone examined and the serial number checked to confirm your eligibility for a battery replacement, free of charge.

My iPhone 6s on 10.1.1. has been shutting down, when battery shows between 20-35%. Not every single time, but enough to be a problem. Yesterday it shut down at 56%. When I press the power button, the plug into lightening cable screen is displayed. If I charge for 30-60 seconds, the phone will come back on, and shows plenty of battery (yesterday 53%). I never experienced this with 10.0.2 or 9.x. Along with issues of touch screen sensitivity and temporarily freezing screen, I am starting to regret this purchase.
