How do I get Siri to dial the mobile number?

Hi Everyone,

Ever since iOS 10, I've been missing out on one feature: that Siri just dialed the mobile number of someone I ask for. For instance, when I used to tell Siri to call my wife, I'd say, "Siri, call my wife." and Siri would dial her mobile without hesitation. Now I ask for the same thing and Siri asks me if I want her mobile, home, or other number. Don't bother me with that stuff Siri, just call her mobile!

Before iOS 10 I loved that Siri just assumed I wanted to call someone's mobile phone number. And it's a good assumption. As more people ditch their landlines, dialing mobile numbers is preferred. And, when I knew I was calling that 2% of my contacts that prefer I call their home number (like grandma) or a work number, I could just say, "Call Johnny Appleseed's work number" and Siri would get me where I needed to go.

I hope there's a setting hidden somewhere that will bring back that feature. Otherwise, I'm just wasting my breath now.

I assume this means that there's no setting to bring back the old way of doing things?

But the old way, in this instance, I think, was better. I want the next generation of iPhones to just know who I want to dial without me even having to say it. I want it to look up the answer to my question before it's left my mind. Maybe, the next iPhone tech-pair is not a watch that you wear, but the iChip, that you can have implanted. Ah, the wonder of technology. But this "Siri, call my wife's mobile number" is a waste of extra breath, which is a waste of life in my opinion.
