Macbook Pro Retina Screen Discoloration from Sleep (Sierra)

Whenever my macbook pro goes to sleep and I turn it on, the screen has really bright streaks throughout the various colors and sometimes takes minutes before it's back to normal. Is this ok?? I am running the newest Sierra beta.User uploaded file

Anyword on this? I have this exact problem and have had it for several months. I have tried to talk to the apple support people but they just say it is a software problem I have reset my SMC and it hasn't gone away as well.

I have had the same issue. Took it to apple, they kept the laptop they changed the screen (problem still persisted) then they changed the logic board (problem still persisted). They eventually gave me a new laptop but the problem is still there.

I now believe its a software issue. I have been playing around by uninstalling apps and seeing whats causing it. Haven't been able to figure it out yet.

I read this solution on TechRadar, check and see if it helps

macOS Sierra video problems and weird color display

If you find that your Mac's display starts randomly showing rainbow colors when turned on, especially when it comes to displayign drop shadows in the system UI, then you will need to perform a SMC reset:

SMC Reset for the iMac

1. Shut down the device

2. Disconnect the power cord from the monitor

3. Wait 60 seconds

4. Reconnect power cord

SMC Reset for MacBooks with internal batteries

1. Shut down the device

2. Plug in the power adapter

3. Hold down Shift + Control + Option on the keyboard, as well as the Power button at the same time.

4. Release the keys and the light on the power adapter will change color briefly.

5. Boot your MacBook normally

Were you ever able to figure this out? I've tried the SMC reset (as suggested below), and I've gone through all color/display calibration, but no luck.

This is only occurring on the wallpaper within the login screen. I haven't seen it on the desktop or in any programs/apps. It usually happens for a few seconds and then disappears.

Aside from scheduling a Genius Bar appointment, I'm stuck.
