Q: First time iphone owner really having trouble

My iphone 6Plus keeps telling me I am out of storage. it says "used: 11.57 GB" Available 55.1

Icloud has Total storage 200 GBs and Available is 193.39 GBs.

I only have about ten apps on my phone and NO music. Only about 100 pictures.

I set up a cloud account and it TELLS me its backing up every day, yet every time I go to take a short video or photo it says "You do not have enough storage to do this" What he HECK is going on?

PLEASE explain as if I were 7 years old, this is my first Apple anything and I am beyond confused even reading the HELP articles.

Thanks so Much

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 10.0.2

I'll assume the figure of 55.1 you show is in MB and is for your phone.

You appear to have very little storage space available "on your phone".

This is not related to how much storage space you have on iCloud. the 2 storage "places" are independent of each other.

On your phone, go to Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Storage > Manage Storage.

You should see a listing there of all the content that is taking up space. The largest usage will be at the top.

    What do you see?

Messages, Facebook, Photos(I only have 93) and Mail. I dont understand why it keeps asking me to buy more storage when the top of that page says Used 12.58 GB and the available 47.5 MB. I've always been a Windows chick and I hate not understanding this. It looks like I keep buying space for my cloud when it's my phone that needs more room.
