Q: Boot Camp W10 pro stuck in "Critical_Stop_Error" reboot cycle

Hi,

I just successfully loaded W10 Pro on my iMac. I was able to get through past Key code registration and hit the first reboot. I get a windows logo, then the spinning circles (loading),  then sadly a blue screen error (Critical_Stop_Error) and a constant reboot cycle.  Everything was going according to instruction until this point.  I feel like this is windows not seeing proper drivers.

I did have to reset my NVRAM to allow the computer to select the bootcamp partition for the load.

I remember seeing someone on the forums who has same computer that was never able to resolve. I cannot find the post. I am hoping there may be someone out there who can help me through this. I am so close...yet so far.

Are you certain that there is a NVRAM reset before you install Windows? The second EFI on the HDD seems to indicate otherwise. Run the merge steps again and run the NVRAM reset and check.

On the OS X side, can you please run

    nvram -p

Remove any personal information and post the rest. We need to look for any Bootcamp-related entries.

If you run NVRAM reset, do you see any differences between the previous and current output of nvram -p command?

Instead of an EFI Boot, can you try Windows icon? I expect it to fail because of the missing MBR.

Do you recall the brand/model? If it is an Apple Superdrive and is fully functional, it would be ideal.
