Q: removing a photo's location data before sharing

I was looking in "Places" in the Photos app today and noticed a couple pics popped up on the other side of the country. They are pictures that I saved to my iPhone from a friends' blog. I can zoom in and see the location of their home. It's a little creepy that I can see this data for a photo that's not mine. How do you know when location data is going with a photo when you post it or share it? Email? Website? FB? Instagram?

That totally depends on undisclosed information - do your photos have location included in Photos?  what version of the OS and  of Photos do you have and exactly how are you sharing? - depending on exactly what you have and what you are doing the location may or may not be included

In Photos for Mac the location data will be removed for photos in Shared albums, if you disable "Metadata: Include location information for published items" in the Photos > Preferences > General.Screen Shot 2016-10-11 at 11.07.46 GMT.jpg
