Make or receive calls without touch screen

Hi, I will buy a series 1 apple watch this week but I need to know if I can make or receive calls with digital crown or side button. I will use apple watch for calling and answering while I have gloves on so I will not be able to use the touch screen. Is there any setting to make this possible?

Hi

Phone calls can be made without touching the screen by using Siri.

To make a call, either:

Raise your wrist to wake to wake the screen > say "Hey Siri, call <name or number>":
Press and hold the Digital Crown, give your instruction ("call <name or number>"), then release the button.
