Q: Bootcamp missing operating system after attempted fix for missing partition
I have a mid 2012 MBPro running OSX Yosemite 10.10.5 and a bootcamp partition of Windows 7
A few months ago I resized my partitions to add a few GBs to my Bootcamp partition, and everything worked fine until I updated to Yosemite. After the update, I found that I am missing my Bootcamp partition upon booting, and can only see it as an unknown disk in Disk Utilities. I followed these steps by @Loner T
2. Run the following commands from OSX Terminal make the current entry bootable. Please ignore the the i386 MBR error, but not any other messages.
sudo fdisk -e /dev/disk0
p
setpid 4
07
flag 4
p
w
y
Reboot and Test for Windows.
I was then able to see my Windows partition when holding alt at startup, however when I selected it I was told that I was missing an operating system.
Any help in restoring my files/windows functionality would be greatly appreciated!
