Q: How do I get my Gmail contacts to appear in my iMessage on my MacBook Air with OS Sierra

I only have few contacts in my iMessage account on my MacBook Air with OS Sierra. How can I get my Gmail contacts to appear in my iMessage account?

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014), iOS 10.0.2

Sierra's Messages app pulls contacts from Sierra's Contacts app. So I'm guessing you don't have your gmail contacts in the Contacts app. Load them there, and use Contacts as the place you house them (keep them updated).

I think I accidently cleaned out my contacts folder, while I was trying to figure out how to copy or move them???

I don't know what that means.

There is no "contacts folder" in the Apple world. Perhaps you're referring to some gmail structure or ???
