Q: How do you delete People/Faces Database in Photos for Mac?

Does anyone know if it is possible to delete the People / Faces database in Photos for Sierra without effecting the rest of the database?  I have a corrupt People Database.

Thanks.

Have you tried repairing the library according to the instructions in this Apple document: Repair Your Library.

Warning: If you use iCloud Photo Library with Photos, this action will cause Photos to upload all your pictures again (from Fix missing or incorrect thumbnails in Photos - Apple Support).

Ttanks Toad - yes I have rebuilt my library.  the issue I'm having is when I double click on a certain face, it crashes Photos.  The reason I think it is crashing is because the total count of photos associated with the particular face (the number underneath the face itself) does not match the number of photos when highlighting the face and spin Apple-I or get info.

I Am also not able to change a face's name associated with that particular "corrupted file" -- no matter where I try to change a name associated with a face in photos as soon as I change it, it reverts back to the original name.

I had an issue with a face where the thumb was blank, I fixed it by:

    - single click the face

    - file/export all the photos they are in to a folder somewhere

    - keep face highlighted and add a keyword/title like "face fixing" using the window/info

    - make a smart album for that keyword,

    - delete (sht backspace) all the photos in that album.

    - delete photos from trash.

    - watch as the photo count drops to zero under your dodgy face.

    - re-import the exported photos.

    - re-name all exported photos.

this is only a viable solution if you're not talking about 100s of photos mind!
