Gray Overlay appeared on MacBook Pro screen after cleaning

After cleaning my 17" laptop and screen I now have a gray overlay around edges of screen. I tried to resolve in Terminal by typing "KillDock" but it's still there. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Hello Butterfly58!,

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you have an overlay on the MacBook Pro. Something like this can be caused by several things. I would recommend you read these articles, they may be able to help troubleshoot the issue. Resetting the NVRAM will reset your display settings and booting into safe mode with disable any 3rd party apps that may be causing it.

Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up
