pstopdf converter in Preview for Mac OS X Sierra

I have just upgraded my iMac to Sierra and when I convert .ps files into .pdf with Preview the Greek characters of my plots have disappeared. I have been using this trick for converting .ps files into .pdf files for years and I had never experienced this problem until I did the upgrade. Any solution? Thanks!

VIN, iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2010), macOS Sierra (10.12)

What happens if you just double-click on the Postscript file in the Sierra Finder. This will launch Preview, and it will convert the Postscript into a displayed PDF. You can then save the PDF.

Also, I just typed several Greek characters into TextEdit, and exported to Postscript. The pstopdf utility converted to PDF with all Greek characters retained in the PDF as viewed in Preview. Same experience converting the Postscript to PDF with cupsfilter. Same experience converting Postscript to PDF with the ps2pdfwr utility in ghostscript 9.19.
