Q: Apple Watch to follow DND slider on iPhone?

Hi

On my iPhone I always use the DND functionality with the slider on the iPhone (when at work). This works well for me. However my new watch seems not to be able to follow this, but only follows the DND selection in the notifications panel. Is this a bug, or simply not possible?

Somewhat annoying if I now need to select DND in another way, or even at both watch and iPhone!

A:

Silent mode / mute (as opposed to Do Not Disturb) is not mirrored between the watch and iPhone - it needs to be enabled and disabled separately on each.

Hi

Check the following setting:

On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > Do Not Disturb - turn on Mirror iPhone.

With this setting enabled, turning Do Not Disturb mode on or off on your iPhone (whether via Control Centre or via Settings > Do Not Disturb) should also control the mode on your watch - and vice versa.

If changes are not mirrored, it may help to restart both your iPhone and your watch:

First toggle the Mirror iPhone setting in the Watch app off and then on again, pausing for a few moments in between.
Next close all open apps on your iPhone:
Double-click the Home button, then swipe up on each app preview to close it.
Then restart both devices by turning them off together, then restarting your iPhone first:

This was already turned on, just forgot to mention it. Guess also that is why I can see the watch reacts on the DND button in the notification panel on the iPhone.

So also after a off/on of both devices I can't get the watch to follow the DND slider on the side of the iPhone (6).
In silent mode on the iPhone, I only have vibration when I receive messages, but on the watch I also have sound.

Ok, thanks. That is a bit strange that this is missing as a feature, when quite a lot of other less useful options has the "Mirror my iPhone" available.
I wish this could be added in a future sw release.
