Why does Mail show Sending Message, when it shouldn't?

Is my Mail compromised, or is this normal? It shows at random intervals whether I've been sending or not.

Greetings hay shaker,

I see that your Mail app shows sending at random intervals whether you have been sending or not. I can imagine wanting to know why the Mail app would do this. I'm happy to assist you with this.

When you Mail app checks for new messages, it also checks your Outbox for messages that need to be sent. If there are any messages pending to be sent, they will be sent out. This is normal behavior.

You can adjust how often Mail checks for new messages by following this path: Mail > Preferences > General > Check for New Messages.

Have a great day!
