Q: Safari 10 is kind of a disaster

Too much security added? Or something else? All I know is it's balking on pages Firefox has no trouble with, and Safari 9 also worked perfectly well with. Some examples:

Pantone's site in Safari 10. I took two screen shots to partially show how badly it parses this site.

Same site in Firefox

Even just accessing the web pages of my CenturyLink router. All kinds of settings areas are either blank, or even show the wrong result. Such as Safari 10 shows the security setting as Disabled, when it's really on WPA2-Personal.

As shown in Firefox

Sheesh! It was an effort and a half just to get Safari 10 to keep the images in the order I placed them in. They'd show correctly editing, and then be out of order after posting.

On both El Capitan 10.11.6 (15G1004), and macOS Sierra 10.12 (16A323), the pantone site imaged perfectly first try in Safari 10.0. I didn't clear history, clear cookies, or empty the cache before trying this. Just worked.

Same drill for Firefox 49.0, though as usual, the browser performance was faster.

I am using a 4th Gen Airport Extreme Base Station, and at the time of the above pantone site load, my external connection was 32.82 Mbps with 21ms latency. Internally, one test was Gigibit Ethernet, and the other 5Ghz 802.11n.

This is very weird. The day before, Safari 10 would not show the router pages correctly for any reason. Clearing the browser cache, cookies, restarting, nothing. Then it would all of a sudden show them as expected. So to make a liar out of me, Safari 10 did the same thing with Pantone's site. It displayed correctly going there just now. I didn't restart the Mac, clear caches or anything.

The usual explanation for the unexplainable:
