Q: MacPro 3,1 (early 2008) OS upgrade?

I have a MacPro 3,1 (early 2008) with 2 Quad-Core Intel Xeon 2.8 GHz Processors and 8 GB of RAM. Is OS X Yosemite v. 10.10.5 the most advanced OS I can install?

Mac Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), Mac Pro 3.1 (early 2008)

So as you have a 2008 macPro you can only really get El Capitan.
From here. Upgrade to OS X El Capitan - Apple Support

Or if you are feeling brave you can get Sierra on the old slugger, by reading this very carefully.

Thanks. Installed El Capitan successfully. Don't feel brave enough to try for Sierra yet. Why mess with a good thing, eh?
