Q: WiFi frequently disconnects

My WiFi constantly drops, especially when I load a new webpage that is heavy on content. The WiFi icon on top right shows that it's disconnected, then searches for network, and reconnects automatically.

This is frustrating because often when I click on a hyperlink to another page, the WiFi drops and the page won't load until I refresh the same page after the reconnection.

I have tried changing network configuration to "Link-Local only" for IPv6, and removing .plist files as other forum posts suggested. Changing to Link-Local only didn't do anything, while removing .plist files seems to have made slight improvement, though not much.

I haven't had this problem before, until I moved to a new apartment, with a new router and new network provider. My roommates using PCs don't have the problem at all. I also don't have any issue with my iPhone's WiFi connection.

I have a Macbook Air (2015) running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6.

The router provided by the landlord is an ARRIS TG1672G. I don't know which provider it is.

Has anyone had the same issue before, and would have any recommendation on possible solutions? I'd appreciate your input.

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), null
