How do I remove iPhoto from my App Store updates list?

I need to remove iPhoto from my App Store updates list. I cannot find the app on my iMac and would prefer not to see this update listed anymore since it is no longer available

You wouldn't normally be seeing updates for iPhoto if the app wasn't on your Mac somewhere. The Mac App Store sees it either in the Apps folder on your HDD or in an external backup drive that is mounted. Apple replaced iPhoto with Photos, which is now installed with the macOS.

Drag and drop iPhoto in the Trash to permanently stop the updates.
