Scanner not recognised after Sierra OSX 10.12 installed

Recently installed Sierra OSX 10.12 on a "MacBook Pro Retina 15' mid 2015"

Scanner HP Photosmart 2575 not recognised after Sierra OSX 10.12 installed neither by "Mac Preview" I was using before or by the App "HP Easy Scan".

Printer works nicely.

I already

1. Loaded and Installed the last pilote softwares Gestionnaires d'imprimantes HP v3.1 pour OS X

2. Reinstalled the printer

What should I do next

Thank you

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), macOS Sierra (10.12)

Same problem with my new MacBook Pro 2016. Comes with Sierra already. When I add my HP LaserJet 200 m276nw MFU it only adds a printer. Scan functionality is not available.

I checked /Library/Printers — there are no HP drivers per se, it seems LaserJet 200 m276 relies on AirPlay to print. So no additional printer drivers are installed when you add it.

Likely AirPlay lacks support for scanning functionality for this MFU/Scanner.

After having experienced the Canon Scanner recognition problem, and solving it with the latest Canon software, the scanner was again functional, until a couple of days ago. I fed the problem of non recognition of the scanner to a search engine and got directed to Apple support. On their help page, there was mention of a Sierra update to Sierra 10.12.3. No advisory had come from Apple, but the support page alerted me to the presence of this OS update. Indeed, after the Sierra update, the Canon scanner once again operated correctly and is currently behaving itself.

Upgrading to macOS Sierra?

If your printer was previously set up on your Mac, it should continue to work normally after upgrading to Sierra. Depending on the age of your Mac and printer, you might need to scan in a different way after the upgrade. For more information on scanning, go to Scanning from a Mac Computer.

How do I install drivers with Apple Software Update?

Go to Installing a Mac Printer Driver Using Apple Software Update. This method includes the HP print driver. Depending on your printer, the download might also include HP Utility, scanning software, or the HP fax driver.

I'm having a similar problem, in my case, with a Canon multifunction M475 and Sierra in an iMAC 27" vintage 2014. The Canon utility cannot find the scanner. There is a workaround via System Preferences / Printers and Scanners, which contains a utility that enables the user to scan. There is perhaps something similar with the HP that could be found through System Preferences. Canon help has recommended a driver (which has not improved matters) but also admitted that the suitable software development for Sierra has not been completed. That might be he main problem involving our two scanning devices.
