Q: 3.0 watch - everything is too small

Now that I have lost 'glances' and have the 'dock'  in 3.0 I'm unable to read anything (except the clock). Activity is all squashed up and tiny ame workout is unreadable. Yes, I have reading glasses, but I don't wear them at the gym or going for a walk. All I can use is the watch function. Very disappointed. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve 3.0 visually (or can I downgrade away from 2.0)

    Hi

It is not possible to downgrade watchOS.

Apple Watch offers various options for making text easier to read, including:

    • Bold text
      • Displays heavier text by using boldface type as standard.
      • To enable:
        • On the watch: Home screen > Settings > Brightness & Text Size - turn on Bold Text.
        • On your iPhone, in the Watch app: My Watch > Brightness & Text Size.

    • Text size
      • Affects text in areas of Apple Watch that support Dynamic Type, including within Messages, Mail and Settings.
      • To adjust:
        • On the watch: Home Screen > Settings > Brightness & Text Size > Text Size (turn the Digital Crown or tap the text size buttons).
        • On your iPhone, in the Watch app: My Watch > Brightness & Text Size.

    • Zoom
      • Magnifies screen content by up to 15x. Zoom in and out, then move around with zoom-specific gestures.
      • To enable:
        • On the watch: Home screen > Settings > General  > Accessibility - turn on Zoom.
        • Or, if the Accessibility Shortcut has been enabled for Zoom, triple-click the Digital Crown.
        • On your iPhone, in the Watch app: My Watch > General > Accessibility > Zoom > turn on.

    • VoiceOver
      • Your watch speaks each item as you move your finger around the screen (requires VoiceOver-specific gestures to interact with the watch). VoiceOver can also be used when setting up your watch.
      • To enable (best done initially via the Watch app):
        • On your iPhone, in the Watch app: My Watch > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver > turn off Screen Curtain (at the bottom of the screen), then turn on VoiceOver.
        • On the watch: Home screen > Settings > General  > Accessibility > VoiceOver > turn on VoiceOver.
        • Or, if the Accessibility Shortcut has been enabled for VoiceOver, triple-click the Digital Crown.

    • Reduce Transparency
      • Increases screen contrast by reducing the transparency of the background that sits behind some elements (for example: notification alerts, Siri and Glances).
      • To enable:
        • On your iPhone, in the Watch app: My Watch > General > Accessibility > turn on Reduce Transparency.

    • On/Off Labels
      • Makes it easier to see the status of settings by adding an additional label to on/off switches.
      • To enable:
        • On the watch: Home screen > Settings > General  > Accessibility > turn on On/Off Labels.
        • On your iPhone, in the Watch app: My Watch > General > Accessibility > turn on On/Off Labels.

You may find it helpful to change the Workout app view to single metric:

    • On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Workout > Workout View > choose Single Metric.

You may also wish to consider sending feedback to Apple:

Thanks for your help Jonathan, I have already increased text size but it doesn't help at all in the dock and bold only makes things harder to read. Zoom may help a little if I can practice and get it to work easily.

Can you please explain on/off labels, i can't find any change at all when i turn it on and off and all Apple say is

"To make it easier to see whether a setting is on or off, you can have Apple Watch show an additional label on the on/off switches."

With this setting enabled, in addition to using green and grey to indicate their status, toggle switches on Apple Watch (such as within the Settings app) also include a O or I to confirm their current status:
