I got the 128gb Jet Black iPhone 7 last week. I will be using the phone normally and all of a sudden I'm unable to lock my screen. Pressing the home button also does nothing. The phone is just bricked until an hour later when the buttons decide to work again. Reinstalled iOS 10 twice. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yes I have as well. I got my 128 gn iPhone 7 About a month ago at the date of 19/dec/2016.
And as you said al of a sudden al the buttons stop working from the home button to the audio, and I have no idea what the problem is.
It also worked for me although I have to admit I didn't believe it would work since my Sleep/Awake button was not working. But somehow, in combination with volume-down it worked, phone rebooted and everything got back to normal.
I have this problem. It is intermittent and it does eventually fix itself after 30 to a few minutes. All button pressures then trigger within microseconds of each other.
I've starting having this problem on my iPhone 7 128GB running iOS 10.0.2. It has happened twice in the last two days, but seems to fix itself after 3-5 minutes. I restart the phone as soon as I'm able, but that isn't a panacea. It looks like 10.0.3 is available for download, so hopefully that does something to help.
I'm glad this worked for you. However, you must not be having the same problem because the buttons stop functioning for me. Meaning that pressing the home button with the volume button does nothing (until they decide to work again, that is.) A hard reset once they work again does not solve the problem as it occurs again the next day.
I'm just glad I'm not the only one having the same issue. I too am experiencing the issue where all the buttons don't work. The phone works though. If you plug something into it, the screen will activate and you can navigate to the widgets screen and the camera, just none of the buttons will do anything. The haptic feedback still functions as well, it just doesn't do anything. Suddenly anywhere from 5-30 minutes later, all the buttons I hit seem to activate all at once.
I have this problem as well. The frustrating thing is I can't do a shut-down or force a reboot because the buttons don't respond. (iPhone 7+, iOS 10.1.1)
BUT I have found that if you plug it in to a power source, it will recover. It doesn't matter if it's a computer or a wall-wart. (At least it works for me...)
I'm having the exact same issue iPhone 7 128gb silver can reset the device using volume down and power button and everything is good but then it randomly happens again. Can't recreate because it's so randomized no specific to one task.
Just an update for anyone reading this: I'm on 10.2.1 and I haven't had this issue in about 2 months. I'm not sure if it was addressed somewhere along the way in the updates, or I've just been lucky. But I would suggested updating to the latest software.
Hard reboot is now volume down button and sleep/awake button. Try this, it helped me while I was having the same issue.

Have you restored the phone as a new device? If you have and you're still having issues, bring the phone to Apple for evaluation.
