Q: Safari Mac, "Top Hit" is broken link, want to remove

A recent change in structure to a website I use has me going crazy! Autocomplete and "Top Hit" take me to an old and now broken (404) link. Deleting the site from my history and bookmarks does not seem to have any effect. I don't want to clear all my history (lazy about bookmarking). I'm still on El Capitan, on a late 2013 MacBook Pro.

I did search and found old fixes that don't work for me, referencing options and preferences that no longer exist in Safari 9.1.3.

Hi ..

Might be a cookie issue..

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab then click Manage Website Data then click: Remove All > Done.

Then quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Still not looking to delete everything, just want to be rid of (or edit) one particular top hit.
