Q: How do I stop iTunes from synching my whole music library every time? (The whole 3,000 songs take a lot of time)

I've been trying to sync just a couple of new songs, and each time I try the whole library syncs again, and somewhere during the process an error appears telling me it couldn't sync, leaving my new songs behind.

 

I've already tried restoring my iPhone, deleting and installing again iTunes and changing from all music to manual and it's still happening.

 

I've got more than 3,000 songs so the whole process takes a lot of time.

    The following steps should help with erratic syncing behaviour. They assume that all of the content you want on the device is in your library ready for restoring. If it isn't see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device first. I would also recommend you copy everything out of the camera roll if you haven't already.

     

    1. Backup device.
    2. Restore as a new device.
    3. Restore the backup you made earlier.

     

    Use an encrypted backup if you want to preserve passwords, wi-fi settings, web history and health & homekit data where appropriate.

     

     

     

    You could also try adapting the Break up large transfers method described in Corrupt iPod Classic, although it shouldn't really be necessary.
