iOS 10 major keyboard lag

I upgraded my 4th gen iPad to iOS 10 recently, and I am experiencing major keyboard lag. I can only type one letter at a time then wait 10-20 seconds and it appears on the screen. This is very frustrating as it takes forever to type an email. I have tried many things that have been suggested like turning off cloud sync, reset all settings, doing a hard reset; all of that to no avail. Please help if someone has figured this out.

That third party keyboard IS called Swiftkey keyboard.

Any third party virtual keyboard app for iOS may work better than the built-in onboard virtual iOS keyboard as they are NOT programmed directly into the OS.

Third party virtual keyboards for iOS run more like a normal app or game.

So, they may respond better than the default iOS onboard virtual keyboard.

I use of third party keyboard called PadKeys

IMO, one of the best third party virtual keyboards for iOS and iPads.

Makes getting to all sorts of punctuation and commonly used keys easier and simpler.

How much free data storage space is left on your iPad?

How many apps do you leave running in the background in the iOS App Switcher?

How many web browser active website tabs do you leave open in a web browser?

Did you turn off Background App Refresh in the Settings app?

What about turning ON Reduced Motion in the Settings app?

Take a look at my helpful tips. Although for iOS 9, many of them can still apply.
