Q: Permanently removing a device

I use to have one Apple ID account  with my wife's devices included in it.  Now we have our own Apple ID accounts but can't permanently remove a device from our list of devices . As a result, we get each other's IM texts even though we are not in group on the IM text. How can we permanently remove a device that does not belong to the account any longer.

iPhone 6, iOS 8.4, My Ipad Also has this same problem

If you are getting eachother's texts, then you need to look at Settings>Messages>Send & Receive. If you see both of your emails, or your individual phone numbers listed there (on eachother's devices), remove them so that only the emails and numbers of the owner are listed.

Also, you have your own Apple IDs, but did you sign your individual Apple IDs in to your iCloud account on each of the phones: Settings>iCloud - make sure that the Apple ID signed in there is yours for your phone and your wife's for her phone.

Oh, that..... I found my husband's new iPhone 6s on my Apple ID list as well. I had to delete it twice to get it off permanently, but it did go away after two tries. This was about two week's ago, and I just checked and it is still not there. His ID also had some of my devices on it, so I took those off of his ID twice, and they have not come back.

I'm sure there is some logical explanation, but I don't have a clue what that might be. Just one of those electronic magic things....
