Random Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening...

Why am I getting a "Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening" from my most use app?

Is there any way to disable it? It's kind of annoying.

I have the same recurring issue with both my Iphone5 and Iphone6. The messages at first came from WhatsApp; saying Good morning, Good afternoon, Good evening or Based on your location. On the Iphone6 my name was added as well.

I've been using Iphones since 2012 and never had this issue until I started going out with a private investigator in December 2016. He was tracking my whereabouts by pinging my phone to get GPS coordinates. He uses it to track cheating spouses. The messages are only visible on an Iphone, not an android. I broke it off with him but it continued.

I turned off Location services and Spotlight search suggestions on my phones but the messages continued.

To get rid of him I ditched my Iphone and Samsung phones, bought a new Iphone6 (work) and a Samsung (private) and obtained new work and private cell phone numbers. The messages stopped for several weeks until I lost my Samsung and started using my old Iphone5 again. I knew he would be able to find me again if I started using my old phone - by tracking the phone's IMEI number - which is why I couldn't just switch numbers - he can track someone by cell number and/or IMEI number. But I thought he would have lost interest by then. However, 3 days later the messages started appearing again on the Iphone5 which IMEI number he had previously.

I knew it was only a matter of time before he found my other new number - he can 'pair' your phone with any other wifi device (cell or tablet) in your immediate vicinity to obtain the sim and IMEI number of that device. So I tried to not have both phones switched on at the same time but it was chaos because my friends and work colleagues couldn't get hold of me. After a week the messages started appearing on the Iphone6 as well and I knew he tracked that number too.

I uninstalled WhatsApp and the messages disappeared for a few days, but then re-appeared but this time coming from the clock. A week later I reset both phones and re-installed WhatsApp. The messages stopped for 4 days but then started up again, from WhatsApp on Iphone6 and from Photos on Iphone5.

I was going nuts; my friends said I was paranoid, but everyone at our company is using Iphones but no one else I know of have the same problem. So this morning I googled it and found this forum. One answer was to go to:

Settings > General > Handoff & Suggested Apps > Suggested - and turn that off

But mine IS turned off and all my Apps are restricted from using my contacts, photos, camera and microphone.

So I'm still convinced that it's this nutcase that is tracking my whereabouts.

So, to everyone that is experiencing this problem - do you have a jealous and possessive partner, or are you cheating on your partner? Maybe you've got a PI on your tail 🙂
