Q: Can no longer get to Summary Screens in iTunes!

I can't get to the Summary screen for sync settings in iTunes 12.5.1.21. The iPhone icon at the top left (see red square in image below) next to the type of media selector, is greyed out even though my iPhone shows up in the sidebar below.  I want to remove a playlist from the phone and I can't unselect it without this Summary screen. I can't get to any of the Summary Screen for my phone.  How can I get the device icon back in the black?

Is this the usual iTunes library that you use to update and sync stuff to this iPhone? 

 

Looks like two iPhones are connect at the same time.  Does this problem occur if only Wendy's iPhone is connected?  If so, does this problem occur when only Patrick's iPhone is connected?

 

Also, you can try restarting iPhone

 

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

 

You may want to restart your Mac too.  Then, try it again.
