Genius Bar reservation - no serial number
Hello,
Am trying to book a Genius Bar reservation for a damaged MacBook but I don't have it with me - hence no serial number. How do I do this? It isn't clear how this is possible.
Thanks

Call the Apple store
Thanks for these replies. To the first, I didn't have the Macbook with me, so couldn't supply the serial number.
To the second, after a lot of hanging on, I finally got through to an Apple staff member by phone, who said there were no Genius Bar appointments for at least a week. She then recommended an authorized dealer who was at least 1 hour from my house (and in the opposite direction from which I would normally travel either for work or during free weekend time, and at a time slot that wasn't really convenient.). I've found another, and will try them.
Not a great experience of customer support (though lots of time invested).
You should be able to get the serial number of any registered product
you may have bought from Apple, as it relates to the warranty, even if
there was no extended coverage purchased. And records exist even
once the warranty expires. (you may need to login with AppleID.)
• Apple - Support - My Support Profile:
https://supportprofile.apple.com/
A second method within this Support page to see any/all hardware
purchases to include your Mac products. Unless secondhand/used.
Official refurbished and new/clearance hardware direct from Apple
are among the hardware items that normally appear in these lists.
From the link below, I can choose 'see your products' and get another
page where images of each appear, along with serial numbers. It will
ask for your AppleID (which is often the same info you use to post here.)
• Apple - Support - Product Selection:
Original sales documentation that came with the computer may have a
serial number; the packaging exterior (original box) usually has the SN
included in one of the official Apple bar-code labels on outside. If you
bought from Apple, an email should have been sent to you about the
topic of your purchase and the serial number is usually in reference.
And if you can locate all that, and have AppleCare extended coverage
the extent of that may include you being able to send in the unit for
repair; in some instances, an Authorized Apple Service Provider may
be within distance to do an on-site repair. You'd have to read through
the documentation of your included Apple warranty coverage.
Sorry to not be of more help in this matter.
Good luck & happy trails! 🙂
