Q: Moved country -> exported itunes library -> imports are all grey

Hi!

I recently moved from the US back to Denmark (my home country), and in the process had to change iTunes Store. After many hours on the phone with Apple support, it turns out that ALL Apple Music playlists and libraries are LOST completely when changing store.

However, when I got my iMac, I kept it offline until I had time to export my iTunes library to .xml (and the playlists seperately) so my playlists etc. could be imported again.

The import works relatively fine, EXCEPT for the fact that all songs are grayed out! I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make these songs work. They are Apple Music songs, so not stored locally on the computer.

I have read that it has to do with the format Internet soundstream, which is supposed to be Apple Music AAC Audio File. But it has been impossible for me to change this format.

Does anybody know what to do? I know that I can re-add all songs manually, but given the amount of songs, this would take me several weeks.

THANKS!

iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), iOS 10.0.2

When you change country you lose all service with Apple Music in the other country because Apple Music and the iTunes Store are country-specific. While the tracks may still be listed they point to files to which you no longer have access.  You will need to re-subscribe to Apple Music in your country and re-build your playlists.

I was afraid this would be the answer.

I already subscribed to Apple Music again, it just seems silly that a better process for this is not in place...

Each country has its own laws regarding copyright, pricing, taxes, etc.
