Q: Wifi Issue with non-Apple monitor via Thunderbolt

I solved the problem, but wanted to post this for others.

My wifi stopped working properly after I connected my MacBook Pro 13" Retina to a Samsung 24" Ultra High Definition monitor via Thunderbolt (to full size Display Port on the monitor). I had full bars on the wifi, but the connection would randomly drop out and the system would slow down. Switched to HDMI, problem went away.

Running Yosemite 10.10.5
