In what way is the Mac not supporting the iPhone? Can't you sync it with iTunes?

If your iPhone is running iOS 10, you need to have iTunes 12.5.1 installed on your Mac. And your Mac needs to be running OS X version 10.9.5 or newer to be able to install this iTunes version.
