Q: battery died in 6 hours after full charge

my watch was put on at 7 am, tracked calories and activity that was totally inaccurate and then died at 1 pm.

If you were recording a workout during the whole of that period, then - depending on your other use during that time - that may be consistent with the expected battery life:
