Q: Mouse or hardware issue
Having a weird issue with my Apple USB mouse that I don't really think is the fault of the mouse - -but trying to find the answer. Using USB Apple mouse w/trackball and suddenly the click is not keeping hold of items when I drag. So if I am dragging a file across the desktop - -it stops periodically. If I am dragging a file from folder to folder it loses its grip and drops the file somewhere not intended. Trying to select items by drawing a marquee in Indesign or illustrator doesn't select all and shows outline of selection box. Things that I have tired and the results that I got...
-Cleaned mouse- -no joy
-Plugged USB mouse in other USB port - -no joy
-Plugged USB mouse in keyboard - -no joy
-Ran Disk Utilities
-Turned Bluetooth On and Off
-Deleted plist for Bluetooth
-Unplugged computer and reset PRAM
-Tried USB mouse on other computers and it works fine
-Tried Apple Magic Mouse on my computer instead of USB and results are better, but there is still some skipping around and not being able to click twice in rapid succession. For example - -I'll move a text box and then go to grab it again, but the click won't work.
The last two reasons is why I am asking if there may be something wrong w/computer hardware. I'm not really sure what controls the mouse - -driver I think? My supervisor mentioned that the LogMein app that our IT uses could have an affect Any ideas? Thank you.
