    Hi

I'm afraid I can't offer an explanation for that.

However, on a related note, rather than placing your watch into Power Reserve mode each night, you may find it most convenient to charge your watch nightly, overnight.

The watch cannot be overcharged and under normal operation the battery will not suffer any harm from regular overnight charging. Charging will stop automatically when the battery is fully charged and will start again if and when required due to ongoing battery usage.

Follow Apple's safety and handling instructions and also note that:

    • It is not possible to turn the watch off whilst it is on the charger and connected to power - this is normal.
    • It is also normal for your watch, power adapter and charging cable to become warm when connected to power.

    Hi Jonathan

    Thanks

Using the reserve power mode for me is actually more convenient for myself.

I tend to charge the watch in the evening, then switch to power reserve mode at night, with a full 100% charge in place, for two reasons....

    1. I keep my watch on at night as a timepiece. And as such going to power reserve mode offers me exactly what i need at night. A smart watch gone dumb! All i need is the time dimly displayed and power reserve mode is perfect for this.

    2. I hit the gym very early, and its nice to have 100% at the start of my day. Maybe give it an extra charge whist i get ready for work. Used to have a FitBit, and often used it in the same way.

It was odd however that 98% thing. Thought about wireless charging, but then dismissed this, as power reserve takes all functionality off.
