Software upgrade for mid-2009 MacBook Air

Hello!

I have a MacBook air mid-2009 model. My current software is OS X 10.9.5. I am starting to see that there are several websites that are not compatible with this software, but I am not able to update to the latest Sierra software.

What are my options at this point? Is there other software that I can update to or is this computer becoming obsolete?

Thanks!

I don't know what browser you are using. I run OSX 10.9.5 and have never encountered a web site that won't work because of it. Usually web sites are limited by the browser version you are using, not OSX except to the extent that browsers upgrades may not be available for older OSX versions. As recently as last January I was regularly browsing the web with Tiger OSX 10.4.11 with very few problems.

If your Mac is not Compatible with Sierra but you Have Not Upgraded to El Capitan - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-10692
