Annotated PDFs - Preview vs Quick Look

I annotated a document in Preview - adding text fields and a signature.

When I open the document later in Preview it looks fine. And when I send it by email the receiver said it looks ok.

But if I use CMD+Y to Quick Look at the document some annotated text field entries don't show up and others do.

Also, if I send the annotated PDF via one online fax service some of the annotated fields don't get through. Though they seem to get through via another online fax service.

In the past I've seen issues like this before as well and I had to open the document in Adobe Acrobat and save in order to ensure that all the annotations were "really" saved.

But in this case even on the Mac using Quick Look I don't see all the fields, so I was wondering what was going on.

Anybody know?

Thanks.

The Quick Look plug-in for PDF is a separate entity, and is not Preview. The Quick Look window does offer you the option of opening the PDF in Preview, or if you right-click on the Open with Preview button, a list of other PDF capable applications.

Apple does not implement the full, or most current PDF specification in Preview. Adobe is in the position to do just that with its Acrobat products, and they will handle PDF features that are partially, or entirely unsupported in Preview.
