Q: iPhone Won't Backup to iTunes

Well... This isn't frustrating.. MUCH!

My nice new shiny iPhone 7 Plus arrived today, so as you do, i want to backup my 6 Plus ready to get the new one rocking.

Every time I try to sync / backup I get an error message, either that the phone has disconnected, or the phone has reset.

I have tried the restart of both mac and iPhone, i've swapped ports / cables (no inconsistencies when charging is worthy of note), i've updated to the latest version of iTunes, and I have the latest iOS on the iPhone.

At an absolute loss, and annoyed as i'll have to go to work tomorrow KNOWING THAT MY NEW PHONE IS AT HOME!!

Anyone....???

Are you running OS X 10.9.5 Mavericks or later?
If you don't, you need to update your Mac and then update iTunes to version 12.5.1

Hi,

I'm on OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 and the iTunes is currently 12.5.1.21

You are not able to backup your iPhone 6 Plus?

That's correct.

It has backed up before, but the last time it did it successfully was in May! Which I hadn't realised.

I'm at a complete loss, I obviously did a search on Google and on here before I posted to see if I could find the answer beforehand. All the remedies which appear to have helped others aren't working for me.
