Oct 13, 2016 11:37 PM in response to ChokedAdamby QuickTimeKirk,You need to make a USB copy of the installer you downloaded to use it more than one device.
The installer deletes itself after running to save on drive space.

Oct 14, 2016 6:17 AM in response to ChokedAdamby BobHarris,As soon as the Sierra install starts, "Quit"
Then copy Applications -> "Install macOS Sierra" somewhere else.
You can then transfer this installer to all the personal systems you own/control, keeping in mind that this installer is "Signed" with your Apple ID and all updates to this install will require your Apple ID going forward.
If you want you can also create a bootable installer USB Thumb drive
<Create a bootable installer for OS X - Apple Support>
But this is _NOT_ required, as you can also just put the "Install macOS Sierra" on any system you want to upgrade, and launch it.
