Q: iCloud doesn't sync Live Photos to my Mac

I use iCloud Photo Stream to sync and import my photos to all my devices. But I don't get Live Photos on my Mac and the optional activation is greyed out, but I do get them on my iPad.

Why does iCloud not import Live Photos to my Photos App on my Mac?

Live Photos are essentially a pair of a still image and a video.  My Photo Stream does ony transfer the still image part of the Live Photo.

If you connect the iPhone to a USB port and import manually via USB, you can download the live photos as pairs of video and still image, but you have to delete the still frames transferred by My Photo Stream from your Photos Library, before you do that.

The easiest way to transfer your Live Photos between the Mac and the iPhone is to use iCloud Photo Library. But you need enough iCloud Storage to upload all photos from the Mac to iCloud as well.

I Imagined it may work with the US cable, but it doesn't make sense, that the Live Photos import into my iPad, but not into the Photos App of my mac...
