Q: Did the phone shop steal my battery?

I had to repair my charger port. Overall they took an hour. Once done they said they're charging the phone to test it as the battery has died but I left it at 20% and it was a really good battery, how would repairing drain it? Once I got it back the battery hasn't been the same and drains on standby when I've not used it.

Since Apple won't "repair" the charger port (they would have replaced the phone entirely), I have to assume you took it to an unauthorized 3rd party repair shop... It's impossible for anyone here to say what they did. Unfortunately, you have now forfeited your right to have it serviced / replaced by Apple. They won't touch it.

Take it back to whoever fixed it. If they can't make it right, either find a competent 3rd party repair shop, or buy a new phone.
