Cannot uninstall chrome from ipad

HI....recently while updating apps, Google Chrome app froze. I attempted to uninstall with a view to reinstalling. This is not possible despite resets etc. The app is stubbornly staying on screen but in a blacked out format. On the App store, it shows as downloaded but cannot be opened.

Any suggestions welcome thanks.
