Different people have different reasons for things. I want to prepay a year for my son's iPhone icloud storage so 1) I don't have to worry about either leaving a credit card on his account or having to worry about him not keeping good enough track of how much $ is left and if it covers his icloud storage costs. Apple has enough of my money. Holding on to $12 for a year doesn't really bother me lol

This is an expense of doing business. Giving apple a relatively small amount money once a month that needs to be reimbursed is an unnecessary accounting annoyance. 1x vs. 12x. Pretty clear savings.

Apple discontinued the annual plan some time ago. Even if you could pay on an annual basis, why would you want to? There is no price break or other advantage for you to do so.
