Q: Apple Watch activity steps lost?

I received my Apple Watch series 2 yesterday and was excited to use it in place of my Fitbit charge HR.

I have moved around quite a bit today, being that half the day is over. I've already synced it to my fitness pal. I had close to 5k steps the last I checked. I got up and moved around a bit and noticed that I have less than 4K steps now. I took a screenshot of both the Watch and what synced last with the Fitbit two hours ago. Anyone have any idea how that happened?

Sorry, i meant to say when I synced with myfitnesspal, old habit saying Fitbit.

I've used MyFitnessPal for more than 4 years. The step data has been off before in the opposite direction, meaning all the steps hadnt synced yet, but it will not report data that wasn't there. yesterdays step count was accurate.
