Q: Magsafe causes network to slow / throughput to drop (speed and connection quality lowers)
When my Macbook Pro is fully charged, the Magsafe / PSU causes the wifi or network connection to become slow and erratic.
My internet speed drops from the usual (15Mbit) to about 4Mbit (+/- a couple of meg, it fluctuates). This can be tested with speedtest, fast.com or trying to buffer Youtube/Netflix. The second I unplug the Magsafe, the connection improves and jumps back to full speed.
I have just bought a USB > Ethernet adapter and the same problem remains using a cabled connection -- so wifi interference can't be the problem.
If the battery is still charging the network works properly. It is only once the battery reaches 100% that the charger causes the issue.
Is this a likely faulty charger? I have heard that a faulty ground could cause a floating ground in the Macbook which can upset various circuits... I am in the UK so the PSU is the 3 pin earthed type.

I suggest a SMC reset:

Also an Apple Hardware Test might provide a clue:

Note that an error free AHT is not conclusive.
If no success, an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a FREE evaluation is a good option.
Ciao.
