Q: Photos 2.0: photo book — can't move photo in frame?

In the previous version of Photos, when creating a photobook, it was possible to re-position the photo within the 'holder' (where the photo was larger than the cropped area).

However, since upgrading to macOS Sierra, Photos doesn't seem to allow this. Is there a new way to do this in Photos 2.0?

MacBook, macOS Sierra (10.12)

You will have to provide details - I can move photos that are larger than the frame around to pick what shows by simply dragging the photo as needed - what theme are you using and what are the pixel dimensions of the photo and the frame ratio

Thanks - I'm using the 'Classic' book with 'Modern Lines' theme. I can zoom right in and out but can't pan the image around in the frame. When I choose 'Edit Photo' from the contextual menu I can see more of the photo than is shown in the frame and yet I can't get to it and reframe the photo. Some photos are from iPhone 6s, some are from a DLSR (so pixel dimensions should be a limiting factor).

I'm using the trackpad on a 12" MacBook - are you using a mouse? And are you definitely on Photos 2.0?

Yes I am using OS X Sierra 10.12 and Photos 2.0 - My test book is a large Hardcover book using the Journal theme

and I am using a track pad - using three fingers (the way my track pad is configured for dragging) I can drag photos around when viewing the page (not in edit mode)

Thanks Larry, Just plugged a mouse in and it worked as expected. With narrowed it down to the trackpad. Turns out it was the 'Force click and Haptic feedback' option that was problematic (in Trackpad preferences). Switched that off and it works as I would expect. Since realising what the issue was, I can leave that enabled and 'just' get it working by pressing just right. However, I've left it disabled from this point onwards as I don't find much utility in those settings anyway.

I appreciate you taking the time to help, thank you.

I've actually found it fails to work if I amend the layout of the page (e.g. switch from a 2 photo layout to 4 for example) and then try and pan a photo. It doesn't work so I have to quit Photos and re-launch and it then allows the photos to be panned.
